The Mountains I See Poem by Matthew Rousseau

The Mountains I See

In the Distance I see vast mountians upon mountains of waste
there are forgotten dreams and hopes
like when little Jimmy wished he could ride a bike
or how Jill dreamed she would become famous
all lost in the conformity and uniformity
of this practical thought out society
In the future I see even more vast mountians of waste
there are forgotten posessions
the ipod you got two years ago has been replaced, but in never went away.
the TV that has been outdated my a new more efficent cleaner smoother technology
When do we become outdated instead of what we create?
when do we become gods and know everything?
when we know everything… what is worth remembering?
I see vast mountians of lost lives
intertwined
with themselves and their things
when do our possessions and dreams own us, and not vise versa?
