The Mother Poem by Wes Matthews

The Mother

You suffered the starvation of love.
You had a careful mindset but, fell into broken pieces.
You believed running from your problems would fix an issue?
An addiction.
Abandoned your children;
Who suffered from your emotional abuse arose after every bottle.
Depressed, you found the gin that kept you up.
It broke out the monster.
Awaken through the night, dazed and confused.
Turned the careful beauty of you into a careless witch.
You’re a drunk.
