The Morning Sun Poem by Hal Caufield

The Morning Sun

You are the morning sun,
Its luminance never extinguished
By overcast skies.
The morning sun’s splendor
Is not in it great beauty.
Nor is it most cherished
For its great radiant glow.
The morning sun is most loved
Because of the hope it brings.

Despite toss turned tumultuous
Nights that seem to never end,
In the morning
Its light will always shine.
And so you with your smile,
Bring new hope on those
Hapless days when I
Feel the world’s weight.

You are the most radiant glow,
The spark of hope
At dawn's first light,
What keeps me going
When all seems lost.
