The Moon Poem by Rajendra padhi

The Moon

THE MOON

Now I wish for moon after fifty summers
I grow with it all the night in silence,
The feet of the past motionless in mind
I am the moon as I grow old moves alone,
I move over the meadows in silvery rays
Hang on the trees kissing their leaves,
Sit with butterflies for flowers of morn
Shine over paupers full of sighs at night,
In the tears of the girl alone in the lawn
Pining for her lover to come from stars,
Though in darkness tuned in solitude
I glitter on dew falling on tender grass
Deeply cools them after the blazing day,
Silently I move amidst a cluster of stars
Brighten me in the river of quietness,
I become little rays on the dark ways
A singer of light in the land of gloom,
Lightly and slowly I lean out of my room
Hold up the earth in its bluest dreams.
