The Monsoon Sky Poem by Yasmin Khan

The Monsoon Sky

Rating: 4.6

Hark, the clouds sing a rap along the sky,
Wooly packs on winds fly,
Like sailing ships to mortal eye
Or say armies that conquer
Foreign lands, they occupy
The dome in rumbling thunder.

Songsters frolic and dance on boughs,
Their rapturous songs sweetly endow
Sonority all around;
Flowers in felicity move and dance
On motion-drunk air that blows
Among tree tops and gaily prance.

Lo, now the rain’s song in high notes
Well-tuned from wet strings floats;
Sultry sighs dissipate, and happily gloats
The sky over its triumph
On scorching sun and its mote,
How cool breaths and fresh fragrance!
