The Missing Link Poem by Broaden Rawd

The Missing Link

The chains that enslaved us
Tortured and maimed us
Kept and wept us
From ever being free

Formed the love that binds us
And always reminds us
It's not just us
Or the love of justice
But the love above us
That is to be

No matter the distance
That parts our lip's kiss
The connection is instant
Our souls reminisce

The touch of those chains
Go no deeper than the flesh
That the touch of our love
Will always attest

The love that we make
Those devils will know
That the touch of those chains
Will hurt no mo

And you gave birth to new you and me
The future we wanted that was not to be
The chains of love that no eye can see
Forever will bind us for
Eternity
