The Mishap Poem by Nirupa Narine

The Mishap

My heart raced,
My body froze,
I saw the lights flash before my eyes
All I could hear were tires skidding, screams, then BLAM
Everything went dark
It felt like death was coming to take my life

I was asleep
All I would hear was an annoying beeping in the distance,
It would come and go like the waves in an ocean
I would go back dreaming,
Seeing all my family and friends smiling
And i would be enjoying myself

I was finally awake but i saw everyone crying
I tried to talk to them but no one would listen
When I looked at what they were crying about,
I saw myself.

Courage Nirupa: So much we can lose based on one mishap. Yet you are here to write this, so expressive, yet so brave. Please read mine: His Purposes Move On. Adeline
