The Mirror - Ii Poem by RAJ NANDY

The Mirror - Ii

THE MIRROR - II

Despite all our tecnological advances,
and the Large Hadron Collider;
And despite our developed intellect and
intution,
We can never see ourselves, without the
aid of a mirror's reflection!
We must always seek a mirror's glazed
surface,
Be it of full length or of a smaller size
or shape!
Or wait to get reflected in other's eyes,
With their distorted vision and colored
opinions,
Where our true face is lost and is seen
no more!
Or like Narcissus spend the day long,
Admiring our reflected face by some lake
or pond;
Where the weeping willows bend down
low,
To see their tear drops gently fall!
How I wish that some day, a 3-D Mirror
will come my way!
Wherein I could gently step in to see,
Myself as a child once more at play!
To visit those place I had loved to be,
With those people who are no more!
To meet all those I had dearly loved,
And embrace them with a loving heart!
Alas, with time those faces have dissolved,
But the mirror keeps the secret of them all!
And now it slowly shows me a face,
Where time is gradually perfecting its art,
The mirror shall engulf a face once more,
When time comes for me to depart!
