The Mirror Poem by Jeremy Williams

The Mirror

I want to be with you
'Cos I like the things you do
When you comb your hair
In the mirror you do stare
Just completely unaware
That the beauty you hold
Comes from within
If only I could let you see
That beauty is not skin deep
It's what's inside that counts
And you have that in excessive amounts
I wouldn't be here today
If I thought in any way
That there was nothing more to you
Than the wonderful exterior
So scratch beneath the surface
And you may finally see
Why you mean so much to me
