The Mermaid Poem by Katherine Tylor McCall

The Mermaid

Rating: 4.0

Her tail shimmers as she darts across the crystal sea.
Her lovely hair does seem to glimmer,
Tantalizing me.
This lovely creature all alone,
Or is that what it seems?
Now to Mermaids swim across
The pretty green-blue sea.
'No more of this! ' I up and cry,
And dive off the rocky shore.
But, alas, the mers are gone,
To taunt me nevermore.

Oh, to be a mermaid! I can picture your rocky shore and the mermaids calling. Nice job.
