The Mask Poem by Barbara Buxton

The Mask

Too Bad
We cannot show our face
without the mask,
we wear each day
to match
agendas we must meet.

Naked in bravery we do not feel,
to stand to truth and so reveal
To lift the covering we can't remove.

For if we did so thus expose, Ah HA!
We'd walk away
not even to know
what
is beneath
watching us
to go.
