The Mantis At Morning Poem by ana lou

The Mantis At Morning

With dews amidst the tiny leaves,
there came a mantis.
Hop, stop, hop, stop
until it draws near at the top.

Before the sun hit the earth,
Mantis raced to be the first.
Hop, stop, hop, stop
and with a winner's smile it greets the sun.

Not long after the cocks are awake,
it greeted everybody with a jolly leap.
Hop, stop, hop, stop
Then altogether start their day with their best.
