The Mannequin Poem by Jake Andrews

The Mannequin

A lifeless body shapes to be the beauty
Your lifeless mind fills the void

This is where the mannequin maker stopped as to say
here, THIS is where you are supposed to be
Partake! , come and go with the flow

(AS IF the the lifeless head could think for its self)

Use your time to accomplish your self reverence
The body, it is all you need to complete yourself
And these robes complete your image

You now wish for a time when your mind can flow freely
From body to body, living through the essence of society

Live for the image with which you have created
You need only the sense of yourself to complete the mold
assimilate with your idols, dance with the heart that does not beat

Rise yourself to the place of my pity
For the lifeless body needs a head,
You can be the one to dance with the image

I shall sleep instead
