The Machine Poem by Jana Rininger

The Machine

There is a fire inside of us that burns
Causing the engine inside our minds to turn
Through blazing eyes and smoldering emotions
We are forced to make this machine churn.

Through countless days and countless hours
We slave over this work that is called ours
How long will this go on, continue?
Time spent bowed down before their powers

Break away from the mind control machine
Break away from the same old routine
No, we won't be controlled, we won't back down,
Of this place, our hands will be washed clean.

There is an uprising within us,
With the power to turn them all to dust.
Ashes from our almighty, prevailing fire,
Will fill their machines with copper rust.

The Time Has Come
Break away from the decay
The Time Has Come
Betray their set ways
The Time Has Come
Now is the day to say
The time has come to break away.
