There’s safety in numbers
Individuals stand all alone
Thinking for themselves
Nobody’s cardboard clone
Everybody wants to be noticed
Everyone looks the same
In the world of the mindless majority
Difference equates to shame
Everybody’s a contortionist
We twist and turn to fit in
Searching for proximity
There’s comfort when we’re akin
Everyone’s needy
Craving the approval of peers
We lose ourselves in compromise
Then familiarity domineers
Everybody’s hiding
Like a reality refugee
Prisoners of no confidence
Pretending to be free
All are hopeful
Waiting for the call
Everyone’s everybody
Or are we no one at all
