The Love Thief Poem by Lora Colon

The Love Thief

Rating: 5.0

I finally had to face the truth,
Though it brings me a mountain of grief,
My eyes were blind, but now I see....
The man that I love is a thief!

Day and night, he robs me of peace,
He makes me all nervous and dizzy,
Now he stole my will to resist...
That leaves me in quite a tizzy

He comes to me when darkness falls,
I'm in awe of his strategy,
He steals a kiss, then takes my love,
My closed eyes pretend not to see

One night when I was all alone,
Without warning, he stole my heart,
But my dear thief can't help himself,
Too long he's been playing this part

Dearest thief, are you not aware
There's no need to steal from me,
Simply ask me for what you want....
I'll give it to you willingly

I filed complaints against this man,
He'll have to pay a penalty,
And when his sentence they pronounce,
I hope they give him life.... with me!

Smitten by a thief. Wonderfully imaginative. A very lovely poem.
