The Lost Island Poem by Basanta Lohani

The Lost Island

When mortals refuse to reconcile
Vulgar pretensions flourish
To conceal the oppressor’s psyche
Like a dam
Unable to hold water
Alienation gushes out
In the small green island
And engulfs it
In watery chaos
An Eden dissolving into tears
