The Long Wait Poem by Joscephine Gomez

The Long Wait

Eager to find a restaurant or bakery,
Or grab a bite even at a grocery,
Waiting for my brain to get signals of satiety,
Running to get to the nearest lavatory.

Waiting to see an assigned task get done,
Waiting till you see your business smoothly run,
Waiting till attitudes change work into fun,
Waiting to resolve issues and see minds work as one.

Waiting till words and music are anchored in mind,
Till expression is full, no fault to find,
Waiting till a piece sees its perfect performance,
When everyone in the audience can get into trance.

Waiting as I sit in lotus position,
For concerns to go, leaving no emotion,
Waiting till thoughts leave my mind empty,
Waiting till I savor true tranquility.

Even as I ponder on things and make them work,
Situations are sometimes like streets that fork,
Even if waiting is not solely waiting,
The long wait can send the mind a-whirling.

Fascinating subject for a poem. One way or other we are in that state almost all of the time. Your poem reminds us of many of kinds the things we await. So often we await many things at the same time.
