The Living Past
Sweet are the days of our past,
That in our memory ever last.
Bound are they ever in our mind,
Our loved ones and their words kind.
A lovely smile and tears in eyes,
Love and pleasure in our heart, there lies
With the flash of every memory green,
Of days olden, no more and never to be seen.
Friends and dears, now far away,
Were close to our hearts, met everyday.
What remains now, are cherishing moments,
Longing days and a tearful present.
Promises unkept, oaths all broken,
‘Living together lifelong', words that were spoken
‘Dear ones away! No letters now written,
Is everything, all forgotten, all forgotten? '

Old ones always leave their mark.
Sigh! who can escape from memories, it stays with us forever leaving it's footprints to follow in some low moments. Beautifully described poem of all those lost promises and gone moments.
