The Little Death Poem by Chen-ou Liu

The Little Death

A Haibun

midsummer night
googling
my ex-girlfriend

The moment I'm inside her, my new partner cries out, 'Viens à moi, chéri! Viens à moi! Ah, tu es arrivé! ' The ceiling fan makes a rhythmic hum while spinning at full speed.

we sleep back to back
a shooting star
across the window

Note: 'home, baby! home, baby! Yes, you've come home! '
