The Light Poem by Bryan Seyffert

The Light

Born unworthy full of sin
To a life alone I cannot win
Till one day I heard your word
The petty things suddenly absurd
Day by day I learned to live
Of myself to freely give
I came to you on bended knee
And prayed your spirit come fill me
All your people I came to love
To see in them your spirit above

On occasion I would stumble
Till in my heart you'd cause a rumble
I knew at once to change my way
To hit my knees and earnestly pray

You filled my cup to overflowing
And renewed my spirit till it was glowing
A light for you to all man kind
A hope the lost soon would find
