The Light Poem by Richard Noggin

The Light

The new born sees the light
It cries out to the light
It spends months in darkness
Only to immerge to the world
I wonder how intense that feeling is
Have I forgotten

We spend our lives searching for the light
We contemplate about light
About the ever after
We search for warmth, for comfort
We long for love, for compassion
And when we obtain all of our things
We take them for granted
Why do we lose our intense passion for life
Have we forgotten about the light

When we age and are no longer able to think
That is when the light finds us
It becomes clear
It has been there all along
But we cloud the light
Block it from view
Until we reach a point
When we see darkness

I believe that we start life and end life
With a clear vision of intense powerful light
It allows us to know all is ok
Take the time to see the light in your day
