The Light Poem by Will Curl

The Light

To those who seek

It is said that when we take our last breath
and our body frees our soul out of spite
that our spirit is drawn by the angel of death
through a tunnel into a heavenly light
The burden of truth haunts us to our core
the illusion of proof is far out of sight
a desire to find out once and for sure
why we search for this heavenly light
perhaps it goes back to the journey of birth
where the security of our womb felt so right
when we were drawn from our mothers girth
through a tunnel into a heavenly light
into the light we drew our first breath of air
destined to fear the dark of the night
light comforts us from the darkness of despair
thus we are drawn to this heavenly light
weep not in wonder the answers we seek
find your light in life and hold it tight
enlighten all with the words that you speak
as you drift towards the heavenly light
