The Life Within Me Poem by Nicholas Wayde Turner 24

The Life Within Me

The life I see is no longer mine.
The goals and dreams I had before…
They are long gone.
I’m free from that life, but yanked into a new.
I see people that would rather…
They don’t want my life.
They don’t want their life.
They don’t want any life.
I found myself wishing those things before.
Now I’m wishing for something more.
I want a life within a life.
I want those memories that other people have.
I want the life that I’ve never had.
Life is precious.
Life is confusing.
Life is scary.
All these things rolled up in one.
My life.
His life.
Her life
Everyone’s life is so different from the picture that we see on the outside.
We all see what we want to see.
We all hear what we want to hear.
My confusion is growing bigger.
I want some questions answered.
I want to know about my life.
I want to know about his life.
I want to know about her life.
I want to know the answers.
