The Leaderless Man Poem by Francis Duggan

The Leaderless Man

The praises of anyone he never sing
He lives in his own way and he does his own thing
There's none he looks up to and on none he looks down
The leaderless man in the ordinary town.

Not interested on current affairs, sports, politics or football
In fact he does not seem interested on anything at all
The leaderless fellow with little to say
Feel lucky to you if he does say good day.

It cannot be said of him he can turn on the charm
Yet he never wishes on anyone harm
He does not have any wish for to be well known
And everywhere he is he is on his own.

He does not wish for millions in money or fame
And the president and pauper to him are the same
He does not wish to follow or he does not wish to lead
The leaderless man is one of a rare breed.

He does not have a leader or he does not have a God
And those who know of him look on him as odd
Yet there's none he looks up to and on none he looks down
The leaderless man of the ordinary town.
