The Last Wish Poem by Shemsi Elsani

The Last Wish

Was it wrong to have a last wish?
When you knew it would all be over
Just a moment more
Ticking relentlessly

Move towards the end
Counting every seconds
Holding every breaths
Delaying every heart beats
Would it be granted?

His only wish

Looking up to the sky
He envied the blueness, so peaceful
Painted beautifully against colourless universe
Not far below, he saw white clouds, like snow flying
Cruising, slashing the blueness lazily at it's own pace
Not a care in the world

He wished to have a pair of wings, so he could fly high above
He’d be chasing the clouds to the rainbows end
He’d go far away so the hurting memories won’t be able to find him
He might even able go to heaven
He’d be happy forever, he knew he would

But it’s just a wish
He knew he could never have

It’s warm when the tears fell
Flowed on his white cheek
Carried away his last wish
Before his body came to rest
To the eternity
