The Last Desire Poem by Bireswar Halder

The Last Desire

Wait, Wait and wait, I am waiting,
I don`t know how long I am to wait
Sleep eludes me that you're away
Only silent tears, only a pining heart

I am eager to be in your reach, together
My heart will again settle in joy
This life is no life, a sea of dust as if
I long for you as did Sabari for Rama.

I know you will come to me once
To fulfill my last desire forever
We will start for another country
Leaving behind all despairs and pains.

With your touch, I will be awakened again
To roam life with smile and dreams
People will whisper out from ear to ear
But we will be love's only name, only mystery

Please come soon, rest on my bowers
Let us unite again, the divine will on us
You will be the queen of this love,
We'll be a new earth, you and me!
