The Last Becomes First
When I cruelly used to disregard;
Replied her nothing but negligence-
With boasting and arrogance-
She wanted me and rushed to romance.
But when I started paying attention
And humbly begging for her passion,
The table was turned against me
In a heartbreaking fashion.
Players of backgammon replace
Their opponent's earlier place;
It is normal to encounter such a state.
'The last becomes first and the first last'
