The Lady By The Stream1 Poem by Abubakar Abdulkadir

The Lady By The Stream1

Rating: 5.0

By the stream in the meadow
Sat a belle jeweled in sparkles
Relishing the smiling serenity
Her hair billowed like a cascade of confetti
Obsessed by whirling wind
Tenderly patting her angelic brow.

Hear my voice you goddess by the stream
Of eyes whiter than cotton clouds
I shall quench your loneliness with my lips
And water your comeliness with my soul
I pledge my diamonds to your feet
And before you my head shall still
Till soothed by your treasured 'YES'.

Conjugal twitters by the larks
As she stood and took my hands
Then burst heavens bags of bliss
Whilst we stroll down the lawn.

When marital shine fell on her veil
Her varnish tarnished
I saw a horned monster
Lurking in my shadow.
