The Kiss Poem by Janie Wassler

The Kiss

The geese kiss the grass
Nibbling for food

The waves kiss the shore of the lake

The dog kisses the hand that feeds it

The birds kiss the sky

The branches kiss the tree

Then why oh why do you not kiss me?

What would that be like?
Oh to be kissed, and to kiss,
to kiss as the Parisians
For now and for always
Your kiss silently on my lips
Remaining long after time...
