The Journey To Your Heart Poem by Emmanuel Arunee Mwanza

The Journey To Your Heart

I need not remember how we met
Maybe only the tension within me
I need not remember that a simple hello got us here
Maybe only the sweet heart beats echoing love on the inside

I need not to remember the other faces around
Just your perfect face and smile
And no maybe this time, because at your sight I was sure
I need not blame my heart, not even my eyes
Because I found myself on the journey to your heart
A life where some things won't make sense to others
But to me it does

So a hello, could be the start point
Where I found myself in a race to win your heart
And maybe I won, maybe not
But I still want to reach to that perfect price,
Love
Where I will not worry of your imperfections
For I will forgive you
Where you will not worry of me being a ruthless beast
For I respect you

Perfect or not,
I will cherish you
And at times,
on this journey
I walk slowly,
I cry,
I shed tears at each thought of you
Especially, when I think of how much I love and want to love you
And I shed tears,
when I realise we will not breathe this earthly air for eternity
But all in all, at least as I still breathe
I will strive and thrive on this journey to your heart

And just in case of problems,
I will imagine them as waters,
Vast waters of the ocean
And we might be just a tiny log
Being drifted up and down the waves,
Washed away,
Carried in all directions by the winds of life
Where people change, when people change even it be us,

I would make you cry and you could too
But like the unsinkable log,
so we will not sink
We will float and thrive,
Until, we reach the beach
So on this journey to your heart
I can endure pain,
Even the third person
I call a distractor,
Because
I know the goal
I know the target
Is your total love,
That's install for me in your heart
