The Jewels In The Crown Poem by Olivia Slemmermann

The Jewels In The Crown

What would I have done without eyes
No way to gaze at, or scrutinize
Expressions of distrust, sadness and surprise
Gloom of the day,
Ripeness of hay
Be lost out on the glories and colours of love
All would be lost that enrich my senses
Had I been without my eyes
