Sweet Motherland of Aphrodite!
Of love and beauty is your history:
Truly picturesque to me your sight!
The essence pure of mystery!

A familiar feeling embraced me,
When I first arrived; back in my youth:
Summer-breeze of myrtle in the myth:
Mirific Paradise on Earth!

Your people's genuine warmth of heart,
Like sunshine, brightened my every day;
Since then I knew my future starts,
And this will be my place to stay.

Lovely years I have enjoyed in holidays,
In scents and sunshine bathed my soul;
With love in heart were fulfilled my days:
Island of Love—You are my soul!
