The Immense, Poignant Beauty Poem by Uriah Hamilton

The Immense, Poignant Beauty

Rating: 5.0

Don’t go downward
Into dark sunless thoughts;
Don’t remove tenderness
From your plans
Or from your heart;
Don’t be afraid
Of being fragile and child-like
As you wind your way
Through minefields and snares
Along prickly emotional paths
Of the social landscape.

It is impossible to escape
Loneliness and heartbreak,
But you have to celebrate
The immense, poignant beauty
Of your fears, flaws, and mistakes;
You have to relish every avenue
Your human life does take.

I wonderful thought full poem but it is not so easy to enjoy the front line of life sometimes Uriah, I suppose being aware of living in it, is as much as one could expect, trying to retain the innocent of an open heart however, is the hardest target to achieve. Beautifully uplifting poem. Thanks for sharing it, smiling at you, Tai

Being able to celebrate the 'beauty of our fear.' What a powerful, thought provoking comment. Thank you 'Riah, for reminding us that not every day is sunshine and roses, but that we can celebrate the fear as well.

A musical, and very moving, plea for innocence to survive - not succumb. Very admirable in sentiment - and in poesy. Beautiful, Uriah. I admired it very much.
