The Homeless Man Poem by Bilal Khoukhi

The Homeless Man

A worthless quarter of a dollar laying around
It caught the attention of the homeless man
Challenge accepted. He will get it if he can
'I'll save it' He said, 'For the grand plan'

The crowd pushed him, he stumbled and fell down
He tried to crawl, his knees hurt he couldn't stand
Slowly made his way to it, while being stepped on
One foot, then he reached it and forgot the pain

He held it in his hand to realize it's just a dime
Well damn, it didn't matter as he got hit by a van
The penny flew away, his head hit the ground, the van ran
The homeless said 'Why? I only wanted to buy bread for my hungry friend'
