The Hidden Kiss Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

The Hidden Kiss

The Hidden kiss
My niece rang from Russia last night
she knows I love her, and she is immensely kissable.
Between us, there is an ocean of age and nothing
impure passes among us, she enjoys being loved
and I feel uplifted when she visits us.
We are two ships sailing in a stormy sea of love
and not colliding she is my sister.

I have often been worried about her when she navigate
too close to rocky shores of the coast that brings
nothing but divorce and heartache.
She sails in calm water now since she met a three rigged
schooner her age, at anchorage in the bay of love
and I think of Edward Munch`s fabulous painting:
"A Kiss by the Window"
