The Heart That Longs Poem by Pathrese Lei Mari Abejuela

The Heart That Longs

Rating: 5.0

The heart that numbs through the time that waits
Is a heart that longs and aches in fate.

To hear no more of the love that’s felt
Will soon be death of the heart in haste.

The season of time that we do see
Suite time as always and never late.

When will seasons compliment thy heart,
The heart that no one wishes to take.

The summer’s heat of the love at peak
One wished to embrace and not be faked.

Blooming and growing like Edelweiss
In the spring of passion, the hearts wait.

The fall and crushing of affection
Like the fall of leaves in Autumn’s state.

Now sense no more for love is deprived
In winter’s heart like a frozen lake.

Which season is for the heart in need?
Winter it is for the heart’s so pale.

The intimate eyes settles in ice
Forcefully, in battle, tears in slake.

The urge for heaven is beyond all
Through this heart that pumps no blood of hate.

Winter no more and let spring come near.
What this heart longs is for true loves sake.
