The Greatest Sonnet Poem by S Holland

The Greatest Sonnet

The greatest sonnet is of love requited.
To love, and be loved.
To be matched in depth, breath and height.
To be matched in sacrifice.
For no greater love there be,
Than to lay down my life for thee,
And thee for me.

In not too many words, a great description of what the poetess understands of and about love. Love requited is a song of nature.

Thank you for reading and responding. I do write lots of love poetry and have more of those than any other genre. I think the shorter the verse the more profound it can be.
