The Greatest Man Poem by Charles Strickland

The Greatest Man

The greatest man
Stood watch over this land,
Inspired the young,
Like no other had done.
Defined a generation,
Without hesitation.
Was the best he could be,
And was easy to see,
That his greatness cost his life,
Tore a nation into strife.
I still cry to this day,
When I remember the way,
He charmed us all,
Made us walk tall.
Do you ever wonder what he would say,
About all this violence today?
