The Grass Is Greener Poem by Kurt Beard

The Grass Is Greener

They say the grasses is greener on the other side
I've been there it is not
There is just the same as here
Here is just the same as there
There grass grew
Here grass is growing
There the sun baked the grass
Here the sun is baking the grass
There grass turned yellow
Here grass is turning yellow
There weeds choked the grass
Here weeds are choking the grass
There rain fell on the grass
Here rain is falling on the grass

There grass was green and may still be
Here grass is green and is still

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this to play with the tense of a common phrase. It is not a master peace but I wrote it to extend idiom a bit.
