The Gooder Ones

The Holy specimen in their domain.
Smoking in the atmosphere of His Majesty
Like puffs of an incense chasing a train,
Without iota of integrity
Yet for the cross, enunciated the message
Termed foolishness in the Corinth.
Not minding the stand of the passage
When it comes the season to lay wreath.

A fi fila p'erin,
Ojo kan lo n n'iyi mo.
Ohun a ba se n'iyi naa la n se te.
Ojoojumo ni ode n p'ekun,
Ojo ekun ba pa olode ni ise pin.

The architect of decision body.
With the benevolent spirit
Cum philantrophy seemingly bloody,
Trailed by the determined critic and limit.
The songs of the Sigidi oft' at play
Ochestrated for the rhythm of fame,
Crusading for piloting a rainy day
A verisimilitude of show of shame.

A fi fila p'erin,
Ojo kan lo n n'iyi mo.
Ohun a ba se n'iyi naa la n se te.
Ojoojumo ni ode n p'ekun,
Ojo ekun ba pa olode ni ise pin.

The death spitting wood bearer.
Forming the bench of oligarchy
Quickening like mace bearer
Without evidence of democracy.
While the water groomed spits fire
Facilitating journey for the wraith of the just,
Another race denied a messiah
Pegging a note like the Ogoni fundamentalist.

A fi fila p'erin,
Ojo kan lo n n'iyi mo.
Ohun a ba se n'iyi naa la n se te.
Ojoojumo ni ode n p'ekun,
ojo ekun ba pa olode ni ise pin.

Certainly they are better than none!
Parading a chameleon physique
With testimonies long unborn,
Stately hampered and unique.
Just as in the days of Gomorrah,
The words came to pierce Cedar,
Profusely lamented by Jonah
Regardless of minutes on Calendar.

A fi fila p'erin,
Ojo kan lo n n'iyi mo.
Ohun a ba se n'iyi naa la n se te.
Ojoojumo ni ode n p'ekun,
Ojo ekun ba pa olode ni ise pin.

Picturing the dusk threatened
Dissolving acquaintance with tomorrow.
Evidence of the figure destined
Like fate of a Cockroach on a row.
No matter how fast lies run
For yesterday's crime,
The truth overtakes in a second
An embroidery in solitude came?

A fi fila p'erin,
Ojo kan lo n n'iyi mo.
Ohun a ba se n'iyi naa la n se te.
Ojoojumo ni ode n p'ekun,
Ojo ekun ba pa olode ni ise pin.

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
piano;
