The Golem Poem by Marcel Aouizerate

The Golem

It is not known well enough
But the rabbi of Prague
Did start with clay
And then ran out.

As this... thing was
Nowhere close
To receive the
Final breath of life
He had to turn to
Iron and dust.

Which he did
And let's say God
Both approved and
Objected
Given there was no denying
One was being pragmatic
- which is good for the cleric -
Yet trying to create
Something living
Outside sex
- which is blasphemy -

And also a bit annoying:
The grand plan was
For YHVH
(source needed for pronunciation)
To teach the consequence
Of hubris
Rather than settling
For rust in the end.
