The Golden Years Poem by Brooke Nofer

The Golden Years

I know my A.B.C.'s and my 123's
I know all about the birds and the bees
I have made a living off the things I earn
I have learned all there is to learn
All but patience - the one I need most
I need patience in order to coast
Coast through this life that is
Until I get to a better place
With better food and better beds
Somewhere I don't have to take my meds
