The Glorious Sun Has Set Poem by David Knox

The Glorious Sun Has Set

Master Designer prepares his canvas once more
The glorious sun again reaching new shores.
An alluring aura, motion slowing down. .
Restless surroundings have calmed now.
In oranges I bathe and roushe rays I soak.
Blushing pinks basking, swirling in purple
Skies spinning a whirling spoke
O’er the horizon quite peaceful.
Amazement beyond words able to explain
Sentiment conveying the message in vain.

Desperate to remember,
Ink willed to stain paper.
Facing certain failure.
All these words no more than vapor.
Zealously writing to create a silhouette
Of this spectacular event, the sunset.

Splashes of color, strikingly they glow.
Bare asphalt transformed a lush meadow.
Glamorous luster, the graceful sunset poses.
Oncoming twilight, the blanket of stars encloses.
The perfect view of color in every hue.
The unfathomable- inexplicable sight, on this very night.

Thin clouds of white are across the sky woven.
Magenta sprawled throughout the misty heavens.
Golden yellows amongst the multitudes
In a symphony of pulchritude.
Violet, a majestic king, and ocean blue,
The silent dreamer setting the mood.

This mesh of color keeps the dusky skyline
Deemed a most elegant art.
Wild colors fulfilling their part.
All proudly displaying their heart
Amid the glorious sunset.
The glorious sun has set.
