The Gift Of Life

To life there’s more than first we see
Much more than books have told
This gift from God although quite free
Is far more worth than gold

We live this life for but a while
Time sees how each will fare
But yet it’s more than just a trial
When Jesus’ love we share

Through Christ we learn our God to fear
We learn through sin’s decay
We learn that time is to revere
It’s value day by day

Like all good things from God above
True life is for a cause
It comes wrapped up in wondrous love
Once death has closed it doors

So if our wish is not to die
From life no more to part
We need the “Gift” God pours from high
To purge our sinful heart

The Holy Ghost, God’s Liquid Light
May drink both great and small
Guiding helping restoring sight
And teaching not to fall

Through Him, we hear Salvation’s voice
We learn The Father’s will
We make God’s law our righteous choice
Whilst climbing Zion hill

This precious Treasure none can buy
This Jewel no thief can steal
Upon His wing to life we’ll fly
When at Christ’s feet we kneel.
