The Gift Poem by Carl Maness

The Gift

I've already written your pardon in red
So go live again I died for you instead
And all of those things
That brought you such pain
I'll remember no more
Now that you wear my name
I've already written your name in my hand
So go live again I'll help you to mend
You new life began
When you trusted me as a friend
I've already written your name in my heart
So go live again I'll help you to start
And all the years you wasted
They seem so in vain
Now you're walking by faith
And you can still try again
I've already written your name in my book
And it's only to me that you have to look
For guidance and love
Former things passed away
Now you're walking by faith
And it's a brand new day
I've already written your name in my hand
So go live again I'll help you to stand
And all of those years
You couldn't hear me at all
I heard every heartbeat
And I saw it all
I've already written your pardon in red
So go live again I died for you instead
And all of those fears
That brought all those tears
I'll wipe them away with joy everyday
I'll wipe them away with joy everyday

Wow this is so touching... I loved these lines the most: So go live again I died for you instead So go live again I'll help you to mend When you trusted me as a friend I've already written your name in my heart So go live again I'll help you to start And all the years you wasted They seem so in vain Now you're walking by faith And you can still try again So go live again I'll help you to stand And all of those years You couldn't hear me at all I heard every heartbeat And I saw it all
