The Garden Of The Eagle. Poem by Juan Olivarez

The Garden Of The Eagle.

In the garden of the eagle,
I first saw your face.
Sitting on that bench,
Looking out of place.

Those big brown eyes,
Bore in so deep.
That for the next few nights,
I couldn't sleep.

I took you to the football game,
It was homecoming on a friday night.
Twas there I first kissed you red lips,
Underneath the stadium lights.

Yes I still remember that fateful day,
When I first fell in love with you.
A few months later you came to stay,
Since then my skies have all been blue.
