The Future Is Now Poem by Ejiofor Alisigwe

The Future Is Now

I used to dream with my eyes naked
To unveil the cloak of future that succeed
Shredded they seemed to stand
Challenging me naked

I was in my dream mauled unmitigated
The stead I hoped for became a fizzled
Godfather tales of old
And the dream only remembered
As a nightmarish hound
All muddled up in my head conjured
Up repeated dance to music unrhymed
Torrid was a life I used to have dreamed

But now that I am forever freed
I shan't sigh anymore for unsweetened
Dream forever like it was webbed
On bleak pessimistic foresight
I sear resurgent fissures of light
Dazzle me expectant!
