The Funny Thing About Funny Things Poem by Tiernan Booth

The Funny Thing About Funny Things

Rating: 5.0

The funny thing about funny things
Is what's funny to you isn't funny to me
And what funny to me is thought to be
Crazy and unimportant, that's why it's all unspoken

That's why I'm out here smoking,
To escape what's already been broken,
To escape the hands of a monster,
To run from you would be an honor!

I find it funny when you cry in the night,
Because everything you have is out of sight,
Pushing the fear out with all of your might,
Cause that's your reaction when it's fight or flight.

When it comes to fear, my reaction is freeze!
I take in the world, the wind and the breeze,
I sit there and wait till I'm used to the change,
The change in the words as I turn the page.

You find it funny when I flinch as you take my hand,
But the scars on my wrists are your uncharted land!
You thought nothing could kill me? Depression can!
But you fought it off with me, it wasn't planned.
