The Forest Poem by John Wollenzien

The Forest

The weaving of branch
Shadowing the ground and roots
So cool and serene

The rustle of leaf
The music of the forest
Calming and peaceful

Pollen on the wind
The newest generation
The sweet smell of life

The rough growth of bark
It’s protection from nature
Knobbly and cragged

The fruit of the wood
Hanging there and beckoning
Sweetness of the juice

A natural wonder
Way too often overlooked
Natural safe haven
